What plugs and coils for upgraded turbos?

After tons of research over the last year and non stop research this past month I am kind of stumped with what plugs and coils set up to run!

I am currently fbo without inlets and am prepping my car for upgraded twins (maybe single still undecided)

I am running oem plugs and coils currently and they are at about 20k miles so I figured I'd upgrade them to handle the added power! I haven't had a single misfire issue with my car with this set up at 20psi

There seems to be a lot of different set ups people are running and I'm trying to figure out what would be the best for about 500-575hp running 10+ gallons of e85

It seems like everyone goes 2 steps colder plugs and precision coils but is that really necessary?

I was thinking maybe s55 plugs with precision or bimmer life coils!

Any info or experience with a similar set up/ power level would be awesome! Thank you guys!

I'd recommend eldor coils and N20 plugs gapped to .018-020

I'm running DAW stage 2+ turbos running e50 mix. Runs well with the eldor coils and n20 plugs

As long as you don't go go over 600hp, Eldor Coils are the way to go.

If you have an original DME that's an MSD80, you should proactively change out the 6 mosfets in the DME that control the coils.

Plugs / NKG 2 steps colder gapped at .018

You'd need stage 2 turbos & a stage two LPFP to get to 575hp

You're also running stuck plugs as well? That seems like a good game plan! I really have no complaints about the stock ones, they haven't given me any trouble!

Good to know coil wise! And my car is an lci e90 '09 I haven't looked at what dme I have but I'll check soon it's handles the jb4, xhp, and mhd bef so far!

I worry about using plugs with that small of a gap just for fuel economy, I have a stage 2 pump but I'm still getting 13mpg and am okay with that for now!

And definitely play for stage 2 turbos or a small single!

The NKG plug is the way to go IMO. You start going over 500hp on stock plugs, I think IMO, you are begging for trouble😐

NKG two steps colder plugs gapped at .018 is the right application for stage 2 turbos fueled by a stage 2 pump using e30 or e50.

You have a MSD081 DME. So, you have no worries with the mosfets.

Look into Rob Beck stage 2 or stage 2+ turbos. Very reasonable priced with no failure rates. He even gives you a $300.00 discount if you pay him by check or cash.

Gotcha! Ordered a set of bimmer life coils, we'll see how those do! And I'll get the 2 step colder plugs for that!

I haven't dont much research on rbs but I'll look into them, I was almost thinking of just cheating out and getting like Vargas stage one or two turbos, I know early on they had some issues but seems like it was ironed out since then! But correct me if I'm wrong of course!

Rob Beck has been making turbos for the N54 since people first started tuning it way back in 07'.

There's no substitute for experience. All work is done in house & not farmed out to China, Taiwan & the like.

The top 3 turbo Companies for the n54, at least IMO are;

1) Rob Beck
2) Pure
3) Vargas

Look into where pure & Vargas are made before you make any final decisions.

Wow Bimmerlife coils - you aren't messing around! 😉 You should be good for over 600hp, no question.

Keep in mind, you will have to gap the plugs to .018 once you get them. THEY DO NOT COME PRE-GAPPED
