CCC to CIC Controller Question

Hi,

New here, but I hope someone can help. I currently own a Sept 2005 E91 330i, the car came fitted from new with CCC Pro Nav system. The previous owner upgraded to CIC with the Alpine kit, which is a big bonus.

However, they didn't upgrade the controller housed by the handbrake. I much prefer the newer CIC style controller. Is upgrading the controller simply a case of unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one, or is there additional coding required? Obviously the trim will have to changed over at the same time.

Buy controller and centre console, simple plug and play.
