Thoughts? Just getting itchy and my birthday is coming soon. Worth the $20,000+ ?

Haha you guys are the sideways red crew?! Car preferences vary too much. We have no idea what's going on in your life. For me $20k+ isn't worth it but the 8 is a very rare and special car in any form.

Pros and cons to every purchase. I don't know what you owe on your car, so I will not talk about the financial implications and just the car itself.
I have driven the M850 GC extensively when we had some work done on our X7 and had to wait for a part, I know its not apples to apples comparing the M850 to the M6 as you are comparing two 40 cars but I can give impressions. Pros: More comfortable Materials are really high quality Tech is way better Newer The new 40 should be faster than the old one. Putting power down is way easier in the 850, but that is an M6 issue Build quality seems better Cons the M850 feels much more floaty than the M6 not sure how different the 40s would be While the 8 had a really quality interior the M6 personally has a better design Looks are subjective, I really like the new 8, but I still think the 6 is the best looking car BMW has made in a really long time. Financials aside I say you cant go wrong with either depending on spec. Drive it and see how it feels, the new 8s are definitely more isolated then the 6s, so if you want more feel stay with the older car. Side note your 6 is sweet! I love the red and I haven't seen any 8's in red.

I was toying with this idea, but man the 6series is still so handsome. Has aged every well. Maybe when it depreciates a bit more, it'll be a no brainer.

Same dilemm here…I actually prefer the interior and exterior styling of the 6, but as my car ages, I kind of want to get something that will give me some more reliable years. As it gets harder to find a good low mileage 6 (I’m looking M6), I’m now considering M850 or M8 (both GC). Here’s a couple pics of my black 650 next to an M850
