New BMW Cars In Oz
I am interested whare the BMW cars at your location are manufactured.
I live in Thailand and I know that many Pick up Trucks are manufactured in Thailand and exported to Oz, so it got me thinking whare the BMW models you receive are manufactured. |

There are no BMWs assembled in Australia.
Location depends on the model and part and supply area. BMWs are manufactured all over the world. My E91 is assembled in South Africa but many of the parts will come from other places. See map: http://www.bmwgroup.com/bmwgroup_pro...rte/index.html I notice there is a BMW assembly plant in your home country Rayong ![]() |

My E90 320i is German build. Was told to specifically watch out for build country.

Yeah it was funny how the E92/93's were german built and teh E90/E91 were SA.
TBH that was one of the few reasons why I went for a E92 over the E90 ![]() |

BMW South Africa production is entirely of the 3-series but only selected models. Most RHD markets in our region receive cars from there incl Australia, NZ, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore; perhaps Japan as well. Recent production of LHD cars do go to the Americas.
For us in Australia, we received E90-91 and currently F30 from South Africa. Germany is the source for many more recent/current cars: E92-93, F31-34, F36, F80 and F82-83.

Not disputing that some cars come from SA. My Vin starts with WB i.e. German Build. If anyone has a concern for whatever reason just check the VIN code of the Car.

Interesting! If anyone wants to be sure, BMWs manufactured in South Africa have a VIN starting with "NC0".

I dunno if that's 100% accurate.
I'm getting my car, hopefully tomorrow, its been such a long wait. Its an E90 2009 LCI, but my carfacts.com.au report says: VIN: WBAPH****** Country of Origin: South Africa. Is there maybe a plate on the car like the VIN that says the origin of the car that i can check ? |

If you open the driver's door, right next to the tyre pressure table there should be a label with "Made in ..." information.
My E92 335i is German made. VIN starts with WB. |

http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
go there and type the last 7 digits of your VIN. translate to English. Even tho my VIN starts with WB, the car was assembled in SA (Rosslyn plant) Harvy |

Almost all E90 were made in South Africa. I think the only exceptions were some early 320D, and some special order "BMW Individual" cars.
All 3 series non-M VIN start with WBA, so that means nothing!! Check the 11th digit of your VIN. - If it is character "N", it means South African assembly. |
